Will wonders never cease?

Scientists Call AP Report on Global Warming ‘Hysteria’

Scientists skeptical of the assertion that climate change is the result of man’s activites are criticizing a recent Associated Press report on global warming, calling it “irrational hysteria,” “horrifically bad” and “incredibly biased.”

They say the report, which was published on Monday, contained sweeping scientific errors and was a one-sided portrayal of a complicated issue.

“If the issues weren’t so serious and the ramifications so profound, I would have to laugh at it,” said David Deming, a geology professor at the University of Oklahoma who has been critical of media reporting on the climate change issue.

In the article, Obama Left with Little Time to Curb Global Warming, AP Science Writer Seth Borenstein wrote that global warming is “a ticking time bomb that President-elect Barack Obama can’t avoid,” and that “global warming is accelerating.”

This isn’t the way to do it. Raising taxes and not cutting spending doesn’t work. If you want revenues to increase, you have to cut taxes on businesses and cut spending on the BS programs. I really don’t feel sorry for New York. You fuckers keep voting these idiots into office. It’s your fault.

Gov. David Paterson unveils dire New York State budget that includes new taxes, layoffs and cuts

ALBANY – Gov. Paterson’s proposed $121 billion budget hits New Yorkers in their iPods – and nickels-and-dimes them in lots of other places, too.

Trying to close a $15.4 billion budget gap, Paterson called for 88 new fees and a host of other taxes, including an “iPod tax” that taxes the sale of downloaded music and other “digitally delivered entertainment services.”

“We’re going to have to take some extreme measures,” Paterson said Tuesday after unveiling the slash-and-burn budget.

California on the other hand, actually has a Republican party that keeps telling the morons in the Democrat party, no. If there is any tax increase, we will not support it. The Democrats keep coming back with proposal after proposal with tax increases. The Republicans keep saying no new, or increased taxes. Cut spending. That’s what this state needs.

California To Run Out Of Funds By 1st Quarter Of 2009 Unless State Budget Is Passed Soon

The Democratic-sponsored budget proposes $7 billion spending cuts and $11.3 billion from hiked taxes, including a 1.5-cent increase in sales tax. But the spending reduction part of the budget was six votes short required to have a two-thirds margin of 54, while the tax increase part was lacking eight votes because none of the 29 Republican assemblymen supported it.

Not enough cuts. If I were doing this, I would have a 10% cut across the board every year for the next four years. I would cut corporate taxes by 5% per year for the next four years as well.

These cuts in taxes and spending not only would that spur the economy out of its current morass; it would generate more revenue for the state as a whole.

In fact, you could do this for America and the result would be the same. Seems rather simplistic, but that’s the beauty of it. Cut the funding for illegal aliens in the country as well and the treasury would overflow with revenue.

This has got to be the most ridiculous story of the year. All the news agencies seem to think that the asshole that threw his shoes at President Bush is somehow a hero.

If this douche bag was a true hero, he would have done that when Saddam Hussein was still in power. Throwing a shoe, or two at Saddam surely would have resulted in this asshole’s death. Probably on the spot.

Nope. Not a hero. Not a brave man. Just some asshole that can actually express himself now and live to tell about it.

You’re welcome asshole.

Stumbled across this over at Moxie:

Uh-bama’s eloquence…

I hope now that SNL has made light of “differently-abled” Presidents, female VP candidate’s speech patterns and blind coke snorting Governors, they can just grab this bit directly from God Jr.’s Q&A this afternoon:

“Well, uh as I said bef, uh, in a press conference last week, uh I had no contact with the governor’s office and uh I had no contact with anybody in the governor’s office. Uh and what I indicated last week is that there is nothing that my office did that was in any way inappropriate uh or related to the charges that have been brought. Now beyond that, as we said in the statement today, uh, we are prepared to release the findings of the review that had been done uh which are thorough and comprehensive uh the US Attorn… ney’s office asked us to hold off releasing those for a week. Uh so, I would ask for your patience, because I do not want to interfere with an ongoing investigation. But there is nothing in the review that was presented to me that in any way contradicted my earlier statements that uh this uh uh uh……..appalling set of circumstances arise uh had nothing to do with my office. Uh and that uh those facts will be forthcoming to all of you in due course.”

I beg to differ with those making the eloquent claim.

Uh x 16 = duh

Get him away from his teleprompter and he just doesn’t come off as well spoken as he would like. Funny shit that.
