Speaking of Guns…

Posted: 6 Jan 2009 in Guns

I bought a new rifle on Saturday. I can’t pick it up until the 14th, but at least it’s an almost done deal.

I bought the Ruger 10/22 Carbine for my son. I of course get to plink with it as well, but I needed something that he and my wife wouldn’t mind shooting. My Kel-Tec SU 16B has a little more kick than they want to deal with. Never mind the 12 gauge.

Here’s the SU-16:

And here’s the Remington 870 Express Magnum:

870 Synthetic

My son wanted the synthetic stock with the stainless barrel. It’s lighter than its wood stock cousin.

1022

Can’t wait to take him out shooting with it. He seems to be a natural shooter. I need to take advantage of that and get him out more.

From what I can tell, you can get fairly ridiculous with the add-ons and modifications with the 10/22.

I’ll look into it more when he is more proficient at the basics of marksmanship.

Maybe the San Fran Freako Housing authority is waking the hell up to reality.

People that live there need to be able to defend themselves from the assholes that consider it their duty to run that place into the ground.

Way to go NRA.

NRA, SF Housing Authority near settlement on guns

SAN FRANCISCO—The National Rifle Association says the San Francisco Housing Authority is preparing to drop its blanket handgun ban in public housing.

NRA lawyer CD Michel (MEE-shell) says the agreement, which settles a federal lawsuit, hasn’t been finalized. But he says if the settlement is approved as expected, the housing authority will allow public housing tenants to keep legally obtained handguns. In exchange, the housing authority won’t be required to pay any damages or attorney fees.

The NRA sued the housing authority a day after the U.S. Supreme Court struck down a gun ban in Washington D.C.and ruled that individual citizens have a right to keep handguns.
