I noted this to myself last week. Obama is stingy and didn’t really donate to charity until this last year when he knew he would be under extreme scrutiny. I made mention of this to my wife and decided today to take a deeper look at it.
Someone that makes as much as Obama and his nutter of a wife that will not donate to charity, yet look at the American people and yammers on about fair share this, or redistribute that, should be looked at with a sharper eye than the media is doing. But to put any faith in media might be a bit of a stretch.
The Obamas gave away 6.5% of their income this year! Nice. That’s the highest percentage of their income that has been given to charity since, well, ever. In fact, he has given less than one percent of his income in 2000, 2001, and 2002. He broke that tough one percent line in 2003 and 2004. Barely. In 2004 he began running for public office, his donations peaked at 6.1% in 2006.

Last week’s release of the Bidens’ tax returns reveals a troubling character weakness. Stinginess. Unrelenting shameless stinginess.
During the campaign, both Biden and Obama released their tax returns dating back to 2000. As far as I know, my radio show was the only media outlet to discuss all the candidates’ returns for what they reveal about character and spirit. Generous people are happier than stingy people, more compassionate than stingy people, and more selfless than stingy people. Generosity matters. It reveals who you are.

2008 was another year of selfishness for our most powerful leaders. I don’t think a third-person account of this issue is strong enough anymore. This topic has already been covered with that perspective. This time, I’ll speak to the guilty party directly.
Dear Mr. President,
All of America was made aware of your 2008 tax returns this week, and at least half of America is likely to be furious. The figures are staggering. You earned $2.7 million in 2008, for which I congratulate you. I have no issue with your earnings. As a devout capitalist, I commend your ability to earn as much money as you possibly can, and I only wish I were talented enough to acquire such personal wealth.

Of course I do. Hypocrites. All of them. Pay with my money, but not theirs. I think they should all be fired.
I donated more to charity than Obama did, in less than 3 months. I don’t make anywhere near the bank he does.
