This review is funny as well as enlightening. I highly recommend it.

Honda Insight 1.3 IMA SE Hybrid

Much has been written about the Insight, Honda’s new low-priced hybrid. We’ve been told how much carbon dioxide it produces, how its dashboard encourages frugal driving by glowing green when you’re easy on the throttle and how it is the dawn of all things. The beginning of days.

So far, though, you have not been told what it’s like as a car; as a tool for moving you, your friends and your things from place to place.

The Magic Negro fails again…

Obama’s Magic Hat
By Gary Horne

Many Obama voters now expect the President to pull utopia out of his magician’s hat. What will they do when the hat turns out to be empty?

In the dream, the magician came on stage amid a robust round of applause.  He took the magician’s hat off the table and showed the audience it was empty inside.  Then to everyone’s amazement he pulled a rabbit from the hat.  “That was nothing,” he said.  The audience waited as the magician put his hand deep into the hat.  Then suddenly out came;  Free health care for all!  No waiting, no horror stories, everyone will be taken care of and no one will pay.

Great article slapping down the morons that espouse the green religion. Facts just keep slapping these morons upside the head, but they still can’t grasp reality.

The Alice in Wonderland World of the Greens
By Peter Glover and Michael J. Economides

“Curiouser and curiouser”, said Alice.  Not an unnatural response to the wholesale departure from reality she experienced at the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. And we have precisely the same head-scratching response to the refusal of green ideologues to grasp the energy realities of our age, especially as they affect a realistic role for renewable energy sources.

The Green Gospel

If any group has set the agenda for Green-ism in our age, it is Greenpeace. In 2007 Greenpeace produced a film ‘The Convenient Solution‘, which succinctly put the case for renewable energy’s ‘urgent’ solution before the world. Introducing the film on their website Greenpeace makes this statement, “We all know that, to stop climate change, we need to stop burning fossil fuels”.  Within minutes of the film getting under way we are informed of the “unnecessary dependence on fossil fuels.” What the Green gospel also says “we all know…” is that: mankind burning fossil fuels emits carbon dioxide, a ‘polluting’ greenhouse gas that significantly contributes to (anthropogenic) global warming. Thus, if we don’t quickly change our evil, fossil burning ways dire prognostications will soon befall us.

One and a Half Cheers for Interior Secretary Salazar
By
Humberto Fontova

Exactly a year ago President Bush’s Interior Sec. , Dirk Kempthorne, under pressure from greenies and global warmists, invoked the U.S. Endangered Species Act to list polar bears as “a threatened species.”  The listing was idiotic; in fact polar bear numbers have doubled worldwide over the past 30 years. And three years earlier Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, acting on the advice of people who actually live around polar bears, had filed suit against the Dept. of the Interior to prevent the listing.

Alas Gov. Palin’s efforts only forestalled the listing. But at least Sec. Kempthorne saw through part of the greenie-weenie ploy and called their bluff: “This listing, ” he warned last year, “should not open the door to use of the Endangered Species Act to regulate greenhouse gas emissions from automobiles, power plants, and other sources.”

Follow up from a former liberal:

How to Deprogram a Liberal in One Year Or Less
By Robin of Berkeley

So what do you do when you realize that everything you’ve ever thought and believed no longer worked for you?  Where do you go when the bubble of progressive politics bursts in your face and you’re left in the leftist place on earth?  It seems that the choices are as follows:  either you cling to your beliefs even more zealously and attack anyone who dares to disagree.  Or, if you’re like me, you embark on a journey of discovery and recovery.

I wrote another piece recently for American Thinker, a letter of amends to conservatives.  In it I described why I transformed from a Berkeley leftist to a talk radio loving conservative the last 1 1/2 years.   I realized the Democratic Party wasn’t what I thought, that it had mutated into something mean and rough, and that I had probably been living in a fantasy world all along.  I very much appreciated the outpouring of support, wisdom, and forgiveness from American Thinker readers.

I’ve been labeling Obama a Neo-Marxist for some time now. I guess it is starting to catch on with others.

President Obama: Neo-Marxist
by Larry Elder

The topic: “The Future of Capitalism.”

Time magazine, to discuss this, assembled a “stellar cast.” One such “honoree” works as a Public Broadcasting Service/National Public Radio host. The tax dollars produced by the capitalism he criticizes help pay his salary. (The irony was apparently lost.) At least other “business roundtable” panelists — commentator/publisher/author Arianna Huffington and singer John Legend — make their money the old-fashioned way, by enticing consumers to buy what they sell.

“I don’t think that left to its own devices,” the taxpayer-supported broadcaster/pundit said, “capitalism moves along smoothly and everyone gets treated fairly in the process. Capitalism is like a child: If you want the child to grow up free and productive, somebody’s got to look over the shoulder of that child.” Good grief.
