Going, going…

Rasmussen:

48% of Voters Approve, 51% Disapprove of the President’s Performance

Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 27% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-one percent (41%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -14. These figures mark the lowest Approval Index rating yet recorded for this President. The previous low of -12 was reached on July 30 (see trends).

Prior to today, the number who Strongly Approved of the President’s performance had never fallen below 29%. Some of the decline has come from within the President’s own party. Just 49% of Democrats offer such a positive assessment of the President at this time.

Check the list. If your mayor is on it, let them know how you feel about it. This organization is anti-gun. Not anti-illegal guns. Make no mistake. They are out for the law abiding citizen’s guns. They don’t care that is has nothing to do with the crime in their respective cities. Gun control is about controlling people. Don’t let these zealots take away your freedom. If you are a voter without an issue, make this one your issue. If a politician voices their opinion that guns are “evil” and should not be allowed for anyone, then be that one issue voter that says no to that candidate. The Second Amendment protects all the others. Your freedom depends on your ability to defend it against tyranny.

From the NRA-ILA site:

Another Mayor Drops Membership in “Mayors Against Illegal Guns”

Since its creation, Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG) has signed up a large number of committed anti-gun politicians to its ranks.  It has also signed up some politicians who failed to realize the true anti-gun nature of MAIG.  A number of those mayors have resigned their membership when they learned the truth.

This past week, yet another mayor, Village of Walton Hills, Ohio Mayor Marlene Anielski (R), has resigned her membership.  Mayor Anielski informed the Buckeye Firearms Association of her decision, reporting that she had not realized the real agenda of MAIG.  In fact, she reported, she and her husband are NRA life members!

With the ongoing effort by MAIG to mislead the public and even its own members on its true agenda, it is no surprise that some mayors are choosing to leave the group. How many more mayors don’t know what MAIG is really all about?

All NRA members should ask: Is my mayor a member of MAIG?  If you do not know, check the list here.

If your mayor is on the list, contact his or her office and politely let him or her know you are opposed to his or her membership in Mayor Bloomberg’s radical anti-gun organization.

Quote of the day:

“Weren’t all the thermometers used to make this graph on land?  Doesn’t that leave out the 75% of the earth’s surface that is water?”

It’s in reference to ‘global warming’ that the idiots on the left keep crying in the wheat germ about. Oops, we need warm weather to grow that, and it takes a farmer with all his tractors and trucks to get it to your pie hole.
But I digress. ‘Global warming’ is BS. It’s that big yellow ball in the sky that keeps warming this lovely planet. The warmer, the better. More warming equates to more food growth for a longer time. There are so many things wrong with the ‘global warming’ hysteria, I just can’t list it all here. But, I have a nice article for your perusal. Even if you drink the ‘global warming’ Kool-aid, I suggest you take a look anyway. It might wake you up from your stupidity, if that’s possible.

My Global Warming Epiphany by Randall Hoven

Global warming is a complicated subject.  It therefore takes a lot of hubris or ignorance to think you can explain either the “for” or “against” case in a few hundred words.  But I stumbled onto some data that meets my “keen grasp of the obvious” threshold for understanding.

Recall that we really need to answer “yes” to four separate questions before we join the Al Gore religion of “sign the treaty immediately or we will all die.”

(1) Is the globe getting warmer?

(2) If so, is man doing it?

(3) If so, is it bad?

(4) If so, is the massive-reductions-in-CO2 approach the best way to deal with it?

You might have seen such questions before, but they frequently get mixed up in public discussions.  For example, some people imply that if the answer to (1) is “yes”, then the answer to (4) must be “yes” as well.  If the temperature graph is going up, destroy your SUV.  Or at least switch light bulbs.

Gun Control or, in control of his gun?

Plantation, FL — Last week police were called to investigate an
attempted armed robbery:

A 71-year-old retired Marine who opened fire on two robbers at a Subway
shop in Plantation , Florida late Wednesday, killing one and critically
wounding the other, is described as John Lovell, a former helicopter
pilot for two presidents.  He doesn’t drink, he doesn’t smoke, and he
works out everyday.  Mr. Lovell was a man of action Wednesday night.

According to Plantation police, two masked gunmen came into the Subway
at 1949 North Pine Road just after 11 p.m.  There was a lone diner, Mr.
Lovell, who was finishing his meal.  After robbing the cashier, the two
men attempted to shove Mr. Lovell into a bathroom and rob him as well.
They got his money, but then Mr. Lovell pulled his handgun and opened
fire.  He shot one of the thieves in the head and chest and the other in
the head.

Ted Kennedy Dead

Noted.

That is all.

Just because he died, doesn’t mean I like him all of a sudden, or does it make me obligated to kiss his, or anyone else’s ass in memorium.

If you really want more, go here.

As I have previously stated, there is NO RIGHT to health care. It isn’t in the Constitution. Just like there’s no right for food, clothing, water, shelter, or anything else that comes from the hands of someone else. It’s not in the Constitution because if it were, then the very first right that is granted in the Constitution would be moot. Article I, Section 8, the founders provided Congress the power to create an environment for creativity and industrial impulse by “securing for limited Times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries.”

Anything else is just stealing from someone else to give to another. That’s not freedom.

Rights and Wrongs by Edward Morrissey

The current health-care debate may produce some of the best civics lessons given in the United States for several decades – if we can get the media to challenge one of the underlying assumptions of government-run health-care advocates. It’s a sound bite we hear repeatedly from supporters of Obama’s health-care reform proposal, and one we sometimes hear from its opponents when they try to sound reasonable. The UN even got into the act with a declaration not long ago, insisting that health care was a basic human right.

It may sound harsh, and it may sound “unreasonable,” but health care is not a right, at least in the terms understood in the American experience. In fact, the insistence that health care is a right contradicts the basic fabric of liberty: property rights.
