Cheer babe of the week:

John Madden

John Madden has been one of my favorite personalities in football.
I am a Raiders fan, been one since I was a kid, at least 35 years now. John Madden was the best coach the Raiders ever had, in my opinion. He brought a lot to the game after he retired as a coach and entered the broadcasting field. 30 years, 1979 to 2009 was a hell of a run. He gave insights that most of the commentators couldn’t come close to.

He coached as he commented on the games. He’ll be sorely missed.

Check out this interview:

Sports OT: Bob Costas Interviews John Madden

Are the media morons beginning to show signs of life? Even they can only ignore his lies for so long. Now that they all look like lap dogs for Obama, they may have finally realized that this dog just don’t hunt.

Media starting to notice ObamaCare’s false promises?
By Ed Morrissey

Small wonder Barack Obama wanted Congress to pass his health-care overhaul agenda as quickly as possible.  While the media has mostly swallowed the sloganeering from the White House over the last few months, there are signs of increasing scrutiny on the wild claims by Obama and Democrats on their ObamaCare bills.  Both the AP and CBS review the false promises from Obama just one day after Obama did his “full Ginsburg” on the Sunday talk-show circuit.

Uh oh. Another rag turning on him? Or is this just their attempt at looking like a real news paper again?

Obama: a flop on the international stage
By Ed Morrissey

That surprising assessment does not come from the National Review or the Washington Examiner, both of whom would almost certainly agree, but from the New York Times.  While Peter Baker attempts to put some gloss on Barack Obama’s ability to make the US more popular simply by not being George W. Bush, he has to admit that it has translated into few if any benefits for the US.  Instead, the distinct impression left by other nations is that they’re relieved to have an American President willing to accept the role of doormat:

But eight months after his inauguration, all that good will so far has translated into limited tangible policy benefits for Mr. Obama. As much as they may prefer to deal with Mr. Obama instead of his predecessor, George W. Bush, foreign leaders have not gone out of their way to give him what he has sought.

Worst President Ever!

That’s right boys and girls! Obama is getting in line with Carter and Coolidge for the title of worst. He’s so far out of his depth, in fact, he has no depth, that it’s seriously endangering America and a few of our allies as well.

Did the “full Ginsburg” work?
by Ed Morrissey

The Beltway media crowd had marveled this weekend over Barack Obama’s interview tour de force, appearing on five Sunday talk shows in pre-taped segments with different hosts.  The President appeared on all of the networks except for Fox News, indicating that Chris Wallace’s assessment of the White House as “the biggest bunch of crybabies” was probably accurate.  Obama got plenty of real estate on the tube this weekend in doing his “full Ginsburg,” but was it effective?  Did Obama make a better argument for health-care reform?

Also, as Ed notes, the Telegraph is in the know as well.

President Barack Obama is beginning to look out of his depth

It is lovely to feature in other people’s dreams. The problem comes when they wake up. Barack Obama is an eloquent, brainy and likeable man with a fascinating biography. He is not George Bush. Those are great qualities. But they are not enough to lead America, let alone the world.

The grizzled veterans of the Democratic leadership in Congress have found Mr Obama and his team of bright young advisers a pushover. That has gravely weakened his flagship domestic campaign, for health-care reform, which fails to address the greatest weakness of the American system: its inflated costs. His free trade credentials are increasingly tarnished too. His latest blunder is imposing tariffs on tyre imports from China, in the hope of gaining a little more union support for health care. But at a time when America’s leadership in global economic matters has never been more vital, that is a dreadful move, hugely undermining its ability to stop other countries engaging in a ruinous spiral of protectionism.

Even good moves are ruined by bad presentation. Changing Mr Bush’s costly and untried missile-defence scheme for something workable was sensible. But offensively casual treatment of east European allies such as Poland made it easy for his critics to portray it as naïve appeasement of the regime in Moscow.

It looks like Lyndon Baines Obama is about to repeat the mistakes of his Democrat predecessor.

And another failure of Obama and the Democrats. They own this one.

Cars for clunkers is a complete failure. Not only was it a failure as a program, it screwed over everyone from businesses to the individual taxpayers, and especially the poor who can’t buy the car that was traded in because the cars that were traded in were destroyed.

Stupid is, as stupid does.

Auto Sales Collapse to Levels Not Seen for Almost Thirty Years

Gee, who would have thunk it:

When Congress gave away $3 billion for buyers to trade in their “clunkers” and buy new cars in August, lawmakers thrilled as buyers swamped showrooms to take advantage of the big discounts. “Cash for clunkers has captured the public’s attention . . . (it) has the possibility to truly jumpstart our economy,” said Rep. Candice Miller (R., Mich.). Other, more sober analysts, warned that the clunkers program was only stealing from future sales.

September sales are in, and sobriety can take a bow.

The Democrats have controlled the inner cities like L.A., N.Y., Chicago and Detroit for 50 years. They were supposed to be there for the minorities, the poor, and the disenfranchised.

They’ve only made things worse and continue to play race based politics to this day. You would think that minorities and the oppressed would wake up to the fact that the Democrats haven’t done a damn thing for them in 50 years.

Maybe if they promoted self reliance and a work ethic instead of the hand out mentality, America’s inner cities might get somewhere. “Community organizers” are the problem, not the solution. You can insert Obama’s name in that sentence if you like.

ACORN is a prime example of the race hustlers and scam artists that this type of organization is. All they want is the money. Follow that trail and you’ll likely end up at some Democrat or other and maybe even a shyster RINO as well.

All of these types of organizations should never receive any government funding. NONE. If it is such a great organization, they’ll be able to raise money like any other charity. If the government is involved, then cronyism and lying rat bastard politicians with their hand in the till is all you’re going to get.

That’s my .02 on this one.
