I think black history month is something that America really should change. I think black history should be exemplified across the whole year, instead of just one month. Segregating their history and accomplishments only creates an air of racism, in my opinion.
In most cases, this month is used by the race hustlers to push their agenda that whitey is evil and that there has never been a white person that tried to stop racism. Try the 360,000 men that died during the Civil War for the Union.

Another problem I have with this month, is that the Democrats will try their damnedest to usurp the accomplishments of the Republicans since the Civil War, and claim that it’s the Republicans that are racist, when in fact it is the other way around.
History is full of examples of how the Democrats tried to stop any and all semblance of freedom for blacks.

Democrats created the KKK. Democrats passed discriminatory Black Codes and Jim Crow laws.
Democrats fought against anti-lynching laws, the Democrats control of Congress in 1892 passed the Repeal Act of 1894 that overturned civil rights laws enacted by Republicans.

It was the Republicans that created the NAACP, not the Democrats that have taken it over since.

It was a Republican president that freed the slaves. It was majority Republican Congresses that made headway for civil rights issues. LBJ was forced to sign the Civil Rights Act of 1964. That particular piece of legislation was passed through a majority Republican House and Senate. The Democrats fought tooth and nail to prevent it. The Democrat Party is the party of the four S’s: Slavery, Secession, Segregation and now Socialism.

Opponents of the 1964 Civil Rights Act were Democrat Senators Sam Ervin, Albert Gore, Sr. and Robert Byrd.  Senator Byrd, a former member of the Ku Klux Klan, filibustered against the bill for 14 straight hours before the final vote.
When the bill finally came up for a vote, the House of Representatives passed the bill by 289 to 124.  80% of Republicans in the House of Representatives voted yes, and only 63% of Democrats voted yes.  The Senate vote was 73 to 27, with 21 Democrats in the Senate voting no, and only 6 Republicans voting no.

I myself, don’t care what the color of your skin is. I look at your personality, your character. If you’re an idiot, well, you’re an idiot. Skin color doesn’t have shit to do with that.

At any rate, here’s an excellent article from Lloyd Marcus. I like his articles.

Black American Dreads Black History Month
By Lloyd Marcus

February 1, 2011: I can’t help imagining Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, the NAACP, the Congressional Black Caucus, and all of the other race-profiteering usual suspects joyously awakening with a song in their hearts.  “It’s The Most Wonderful Month of the Year.”

Ah, yes, another Black History Month!  Time to pitch as many new guilt-trip government entitlement programs as possible.  “I mean, after all, we blacks are still victims of America’s racist attitudes and systematic abuse, which has changed very little since the ’50s. White America still owes us, damn it!”
See, I know how to sound like a good little colored boy who knows his place on the Liberal Plantation.  Democrat Massa’s chief overseer Sharpton would be proud of me.

As a proud American who happens to be black, what I find most annoying about Black History Month, besides the concept of only one month to celebrate blacks’ contributions to America, is the race-profiteers’ despicable divisive exploitation of the month.
