My 84-year-old dad has nuggets of wisdom which he forgets he has shared with me numerous times.  One is about deception.  Dad said a snake can swim underwater a very long time, just like a fish.  But eventually, it must come up for air.  Why?  Because it is not a fish — it is a snake.

Obama deceived millions to win the White House.  All the obvious clues into the true nature of the first black presidential candidate were ignored by the media.  Voters were duped into believing Obama when he presented himself as a moderate, a messiah, “the one we have been waiting for.”

Early into his presidency, Obama came up for air, exposing his great deception.  Every day, with unbridled arrogance, the handsome, deceptive beast reveals more and more of his despicable agenda hidden just beneath the surface.

Barack Hussein Obama is not presidential, nor is he a moderate — far from either, in fact.  This man is a far-left, radical, anti-America, plain-old-Chicago-thug politician.

Va. state senator blames racism for Romney gains

State Sen. L. Louise Lucas (D-Portsmouth), a campaign surrogate for President Obama in Virginia, said Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is appealing to racists who do not want a black man in the White House.

Asked on a Hampton Roads radio show why the former Massachusetts governor had been able to pull even with President Obama in a recent poll, Lucas said the problem was race.

“Mitt Romney, he’s speaking to … a segment of the population who does not like to see people other than a white man in the White House or in any other elective position,” Lucas said Tuesday. “Let’s be real clear about it — Mitt Romney is speaking to a group of people out there who don’t like folks like President Barack Obama in any elective or leadership position. We know what’s going on here. And some people may be afraid to say it, but I’m not. … He’s speaking to that fringe out there who do not want to see anybody but a white person in a leadership position.”

Black Lawmakers Plot ‘Walkout Strategy’ During Holder Contempt Vote

The Congressional Black Caucus has called a members-only “emergency” meeting on Thursday to plot a “walkout strategy” ahead of the scheduled contempt vote of Attorney General Eric Holder later in the day.

The plans, detailed in an email from the executive director of the Congressional Black Caucus obtained by the Alley, include circulating a letter disapproving of the vote and having lawmakers walk out of the Capitol to hold a press conference during the roll call.
The letter, a draft of which is being circulated for signatures, accuses the GOP leadership of “rushing recklessly to a contempt vote.” The letter is being circulated among the Black, Hispanic, Asian and Progressive caucuses, among other.

“We cannot and will not participate in a vote to hold the Attorney General in contempt,” says the letter, in which the signers urge that “all members of Congress to stand with us during a press conference on the Capitol Building steps during this appalling series of votes to discuss our nation’s most significant priority–creating jobs.”

The House is expected to vote on Thursday hold Holder in contempt of Congress for refusing to release certain documents related to the failed “Fast and Furious” gun-running program.

I, like many people that aren’t liberal morons, have grown ever so tired of the racist slur tossed in our general direction any time Obama does something that we disagree with. I have never seen a conservative website start a conversation, or discuss anything about the president in terms of his skin color being an issue.

If you look around at all the MSM and their minions in the blogosphere, then you’ll quickly see that it is they that are the racists.

Not only do they announce to everyone that the President is black, but that’s all that he seems to be qualified for. And he’s only getting that one half right.

In fact, they have so over used that word that it has lost all of its effectiveness.

CBC: Zimmerman acquittal could spark race riots

Race riots could ensue if George Zimmerman — the shooter in the Trayvon Martin case — is found not guilty of second-degree murder by a Florida jury, the Congressional Black Caucus’ executive director allowed yesterday.

“I think a ‘not guilty’ verdict is extremely problematic in 2012,” said Angela Rye, the Executive Director and General Counsel for the Congressional Black Caucus. She said, “I don’t know,” when asked what would happen in the event of an acquittal. “I know that folks have talked about race riots — I don’t know that. I think that we live in a day and age where people are educated enough not to do that. I know that his mother and his father have asked for peace, peaceful solutions, not repaying evil for evil, so I’m not sure. I think it would set us back . . . there’s no value to racial violence or any other kind of violence.”

Racism and the PC Inquisition

Monday last week, The Chronicle of Higher Educationannounced that Naomi Schaefer Riley was fired from their blog “Brainstorm” for writing that black studies programs should be “eliminated” because they are “left-wing victimization claptrap.”  The next day, the News & Observer of Raleighreported that a staggering 54 classes were suspected of academic fraud at UNC-Chapel Hill.  Every single one of those 54 classes were within UNC’s Department of African and Afro-American studies, according to a UNC investigation.  Is it pure coincidence that academic fraud found such a welcoming and statistically unlikely home in the black studies department?  Or is it predictable that the department with the most rigid PC orthodoxy created a cloister for academic fraud?

The incessant pressure of political correctness is not just an academic matter.  Any standard of conduct, any law, any test is called racist if minorities on average can’t meet the standard, follow the law, or obtain identical scores compared to non-minorities.  The result can only be described as a PC Inquisition, which gives rise to orthodoxy with real-world consequences.  In general, any discussion of pressing social problems is silenced if minority groups are described as responsible for their own actions and circumstances.

Attorney General Eric Holder should have been more careful about what to ask for.  When he first took office, he called for a national dialogue on race, calling us “a nation of cowards” for not facing the subject honestly.

It may be that he’s getting what he asked for, but it is not taking the direction he expected.  There’s perhaps a little too much courage and honesty going on for his tastes.

Until very recently, white people in the public eye carefully avoided any comments that fell outside narrow politically correct boundaries; to do so was to volunteer to be the defendant in a media show trial, with a loss of reputation and career the likely result.  Even Bill Cosby, who had achieved a universal father-figure status among African-Americans and was arguably the nation’s most popular black person, had his ears pinned back with a firestorm of criticism in 2004 when he suggested that problems in the black community originated in that community rather than with white racism.

When two white newspaper reporters for the Virginian-Pilot were driving through Norfolk, and were set upon and beaten by a mob of young blacks — beaten so badly that they had to take a week off from work — that might sound like news that should have been reported, at least by their own newspaper. But it wasn’t.

The O’Reilly Factor on Fox News Channel was the first major television program to report this incident. Yet this story is not just a Norfolk story, either in what happened or in how the media and the authorities have tried to sweep it under the rug.

Similar episodes of unprovoked violence by young black gangs against white people chosen at random on beaches, in shopping malls, or in other public places have occurred in Philadelphia, New York, Denver, Chicago, Cleveland, Washington, Los Angeles, and other places across the country. Both the authorities and the media tend to try to sweep these episodes under the rug.

Late last night, in a shameful example of editorial cowardice, the Chronicle of Higher Education fired Naomi Schaefer Riley. Naomi is a good friend of mine, a sometimes contributor to THE WEEKLY STANDARD, and a fine writer. And the story of what happened to her is highly instructive.

Naomi joined the Chronicle’s “Brainstorm Blog” a little over a year ago. It was a good hire—she’s written two insightful books on academia, God on the Quad and The Faculty Lounges, along with dozens of articles on the subject. Her postings were smart and entertaining. (For a couple of samples, click over to “If this is art, your middle-school daughter is Picasso” and “No sex for you.”)

Last week she wrote about the world of “Black Studies” in a post titled “The most persuasive case for getting rid of Black Studies? Read the dissertations.” You should read the whole thing, because it’s only 520 words, but here’s the gist of Naomi’s argument:

You’ll have to forgive the lateness but I just got around to reading The Chronicle’s recent piece on the young guns of black studies. If ever there were a case for eliminating the discipline, the sidebar explaining some of the dissertations being offered by the best and the brightest of black-studies graduate students has made it. What a collection of left-wing victimization claptrap. The best that can be said of these topics is that they’re so irrelevant no one will ever look at them.

That’s what I would say about Ruth Hayes’ dissertation, “‘So I Could Be Easeful’: Black Women’s Authoritative Knowledge on Childbirth.” It began because she “noticed that nonwhite women’s experiences were largely absent from natural-birth literature, which led me to look into historical black midwifery.” How could we overlook the nonwhite experience in “natural birth literature,” whatever the heck that is? It’s scandalous and clearly a sign that racism is alive and well in America, not to mention academia.

Man Beaten By Mob, In Critical Condition

MOBILE, Alabama —

Mobile police need your help to catch a mob that beat Matthew Owens so badly that he’s in critical condition.

According to police, Owens fussed at some kids playing basketball in the middle of Delmar Drive about 8:30 Saturday night. They say the kids left and a group of adults returned, armed with everything but the kitchen sink.

Police tell News 5 the suspects used chairs, pipes and paint cans to beat Owens.

Owens’ sister, Ashley Parker, saw the attack. “It was the scariest thing I have ever witnessed.” Parker says 20 people, all African American, attacked her brother on the front porch of his home, using “brass buckles, paint cans and anything they could get their hands on.”
